There are several different housing options for conference participants, knowing that IASC conference participants have a variety of different income levels. Housing options include (in order of expense, low to high, and rates are still subject to change but are generally correct). Note: June in Amherst can be very hot, so air conditioning is recommended for people who need it to be cooler to sleep.
- Standard resident halls. A typical residence hall is arranged for double-occupancy providing each resident with a bed, dresser, desk and chair. Residence halls are not air-conditioned. Public bathrooms are located on each floor. Single occupancy: $45 per person per night. Double occupancy, $40/night. $15.00 for linens.
- Commonwealth Honors College. Air-conditioned apartment and suite-style living. Each apartment includes two double-occupancy rooms, one full private bathroom, and a shared living room area. $55/night and $15.00 linen.
- North Apartments: air-conditioned apartment-style living. Each apartment includes four single bedrooms, two full private bathrooms, and a shared living room/kitchen area. $60/night and $15.00 for linen (two sheets, pillow with case, blanket and two towels). This is the facility we will encourage people to choose who want to use the bus system to purchase their own food for meals..
- Hotel UMass: A 114-room property located in the Campus Center where parts of our conference will be held. The hotel provides complimentary continental breakfast. We still are settling rates, but they are generally in the range of about $180 USD per night.
Hotels located off campus: We have a variety of hotels off campus. The primary challenge there is most do not have shuttle service to campus. We are investigating these options and will update this webpage with new information about them as we get information.
